Qik and Skype users

So I just received an email showing tha Qik is now Skype or something of that nature, does this mean that we can call skype users using simply Qik or viceversa? I've tried calling a Skype friend thru Qik and it said the username was not recognized.
I'm running the latest Qik version on android 2.2 on a Thunderbolt.

Qik to Skype video chat is not an available feature yet. Currently, Qik supports mobile to mobile chat between Qik users.

I don't see why it wouldn't be one of the first commitments of the merger...the ability to Skype on the go? Come on, that's the best thing around. I am sure at the start there'd be plenty one liners about your mom and the state of you ears (front facing cameras) but in reality, I could Skype my son from my phone from anywhere in the world...and he could see me....oooh the possibilities...
Well I Finally Got Skype for Android for My Samsung Galaxy S Phone and Samsung Galaxy Tablet with Video Chat to My Nieces Pc Which is Great came AVAILABLE last Week, EVERYTHING WORK Wonderfully Except for it works on my Back facing Camera, Hopefully they get the fix soon to work on the Front Facing Camera, my Niece told me to stand in the Mirror for Now till they get it fixed, but other then that Little issue it works great Finally I am so Happy with Skype, Qik Video is Ok if you know other people with cellphones that have it, But I prefer to use Skype to call my Family and now the video chat from my phone or tablet just makes it great becase my niece and my brother don't have expensive phones so they use there Pc's or Laptops.
My success at using Qik has been only when my wife and I tested it in the same room. When I was on the road, as I tend to travel, we can't get it working at all, even when my wife is on the home network. I wish someone with clout would read these messages and do something about integrating these products.

if you are trying to video call a pc from a moble with skype you got to marry skype and qik on you moble then go into video settings on your skype and check the enable box for the camera. now you can call a pc useing skype video with no problems seing eachother
Having skype mobile available, we can already video chat from mobile to pc and vice versa, I do it all the time. So I dont think its a big advantage to merge the two.
i have the same idea using qik mobile to call friend that has skpye it is not working
Although Qik is a product of Skype, there has been no integration of the two products so you won't be able to video chat between Qik and Skype users.
